HAL
HAL is a national open archive that allows perennial archiving and open access dissemination of scientific content mainly resulting from French research.
IMT Mines Albi has been equipped since 2014 with HAL IMT Mines Albi portal in which the school’s researchers are encouraged to deposit their publications.
- Deposit in HAL
All IMT Mines Albi scientific publications are archived in the Documentation Center and reported in the institutional portal HAL IMT Mines Albi.
Authors, guided by the Documentation Center, deposit the complete text within few clicks.
- Which goals
- A very good ranking of HAL in search engines: Google, Google scholar.
- Free access to the full text of paywalled journals if the author version is deposited in HAL open archive.
- HAL centralizes all the scientific production of the school on one platform. It also facilitates exports for HCERES, HDR, annual report, Indicators, etc.
- Guaranties durability of files and access: archiving at CINES of pdfs, unique and persistent URLs enabling stable citations of one’s work.
- Possibility of creating an online CV, automatically updated with HAL data.
- Favorable legal framework
For the deposit of articles in scientific journals, the Law for a Digital Republic protects authors:
Loi n°2016-1321 du 7 octobre 2016 (art. 30).
It allows the author to deposit the accepted version of their scientific article in an open archive, as soon as the publication is released by the publisher, with an embargo period of 6 months in Science, Technology, and Medicine and 12 months in Humanities and Social Sciences.
A question about HAL? About a repository? About a record? The library’s team offers individualized appointments and workshops.
Additionally, at each center, an IST correspondent answers questions from their peers.
