Open Science
Supported by the scientific community, national and European political institutions, public funders, and society at large, “Open Science is the unhindered dissemination of results, methods and products of the scientific research. "
On a national level, in addition to the National plan for open science, major regulatory steps worth mentioning include the Digital Republic Act (January 2016) and the decree on scientific integrity requirements (December 2021).
Finally, The S coalition which brings together national and European agencies, sets out expectations regarding the openness of publications and data resulting from publicly funded projects.
The library ensures and provides awareness raising on Open Science to all IMT Mines Albi research stakeholders and is committed on both a national and regional level to provide updating on the matter.
Navigate in our Open Science journey
- The 4 axes
- Generalize open access to publications
- Structure, share and open research data
- Open and promote source code produced by research
- Transform practices to make Open science the default principle
- The Barometer of Open Science
In order to track and encourage the progress of open access to scientific publications projected to reach 100% starting in 2030 according to the National Plan for Open Science, the Ministry of Higher Education and research defined a measurement tool in 2019, the Open Science Barometer. Since then, according to the national methodology, the Library publishes results for IMT Mines Albi, which demonstrate a very good dynamic.
Starting in 2023, this barometer extends its observation to research data and software related to publications.
- Open Science Days (JSO)
The Library organize an annual event to inform, raise awareness, give a platform to witnesses and/or speakers, but also to offer researchers challenges to increase the deposit of full-text articles in HAL, update their digital profiles, and initiate them to write a Data Management Plan...
A look back on the 2022 session - November 14-16:
About sixty participants and as many ORCID accounts updated and linked to the publications reported in HAL.
Save the date for the 2023 event: from November 27 to 29
